Electric window failure

Featured Replies

Got in the car this evening to come to work and discovered I hadnt "unfolded" the door mirrors in our narrow street. So I pressed the switches to lower the windows and the passenger one failed to do so!!

So has the motor failed? Looks like could be another warranty job....had boot latch replaced about 2 months ago after the microswitch failed! :(

It's a common problem. Mine's the same. Just do a search and you see how to solve it..no time to explain at the moment

Hi Threadbear,

Mine has done this only once, I simply opened all the windows using the key fob (Hold down the open button for about 10 seconds, then closed them again, This opened the passenger window as well, and the buttonw worked again after this? No Idea why. It hasnt done it since.

Sorted! I put the key in the drivers door lock, turned clockwise for afew seconds and both windows dropped. Then anti clockwise and is now right as rain!!

Briskoda is truely helpful!

So I guess that is some sort of restart function?

What a fabulous forum this is...!! I had a problem just to day with the passenger window refusing to open from either door switch... foned the garage, they had no idea apart from "bring it in", looked on the Forum and lo... the answer... I just got out, locked the doors, then pressed open and held it... and the windows opened fine... since then it works on the door switches as before.. thanks guys !

If you are refering to the auto open, they do this occasionally. They shold still work with the switch held. Need re-setting by opening fully manually, then closing. this re-sets the switch to now drop or raise in the auto mode.
