Fabia Estate Greenline just ordered...

Featured Replies

I've just today placed my order for a Fabia Estate Greenline II from Marlborough Motors in London. They're 500 miles away but having read good things about them here I took the plunge. Neither of the Scottish dealers I tried could come anywhere near the price from Marlborough.

I look forward to learning more about the car from everyone here and I'll keep you posted as to the car's progress.

thanks,

HV

What price did they give you if you don't mind, i already have mine from Ingram Ayr garage, thought I got a good deal, maybe I didn't.

An future welcome to the Greenline II owners group.

Wow, 500 miles is quite a bit. Are they going to deliver or you are coming down to London?

Welcome to Briskoda.

Look forward to seeing the pics of your Greenline.

Make sure to check out the scottish region of Briskoda

£11495.

Henrys in Glasgow were £11950 and Arnold Clark in Inverness would only go to £11900.

At the moment it looks like I'll be coming down to London. I suppose I could chance my arm and ask for delivery too, they can only say no.

I forgot to ask... what colour did you go for?

Candy White, with black fabric, onyx/onyx trim. My preferred colour was Anthracite but £440 is a lot of money.

Yeah, I went for the grey, but given the choice again would go for White. I paid 12k for mine with metallic paint so I am a bit happier now. But still wish I had went for White and kept the £440.

£440 is a lot on the cost of a small car.

Mine was going to be a fleet vehicle anyway, so couldn't see the point in spending the extra.

The more I look at the white version the more I like it, it suits the car. Lovely photo too.

Harry, I'd only have it delivered if it comes on a trailer. Do you really want some hairy a****d Londoner thrashing your brand new pride and joy up the M1, M6, M74 for 500 odd miles?

That's a good price ... I think what they've done is matched the Drive The Deal price (www.drivethedeal.co.uk).

Also interesting to me as I went down the very same dealer yesterday to look at a VRS ... so if they match one price etc. ....

I can see one of the savings they are making - the walk to the car park on the first floor was through some corridors obviously needed a coat of paint and a few leak repairs!

The dealer I talked to thought the VAT free offer might be extended and interestingly Drive The Deal are saying prices that are pretty similar to VAT off for 1st to 29th April.

I agree. To me delivered doesn't mean driven, I'd expect it to be trailered. Then again, I've now an excuse for visiting relatives in Surrey at the same time...

That's exactly what they did, I'd quoted them the DTD price and they matched it without hesitation.

I've since learned of buyers getting them to beat the DTD price by £75 so it's worth asking. I'm obviously not the canny Scot I thought I was if I missed saving another £75!

If it were my car I would grab a cheap flight to London and drive the 500 miles back. Get the engine bedded in a bit and some time to get used to the car.

Welcome to the Greenline club.

Have to say I ordered white and am very pleased I did, the car looks very good in it.

As for collecting the car I would travel down to London and the drive the car back, the initial bedding in is 1500km about 930 miles. By the time you get home half of the initial bedding in process will be done - just remember to vary your speed and don't cruise at the same speed all the way.

See yours got the front badge, mine did not. Think I will be asking the dealer for one and see what happens.

I've just discovered how close Marlborough Motors is to Heathrow, only 5 miles. I can get a BA flight for a total of £51, getting me there early enough to have plenty time to drive home. I might take some non-motorway excursions on the way back, just to vary the load on engine and gearbox while it starts bedding in.

Congrats on the order.

Keep us posted and welcome to the club.
