Leak from Radiator area, nearside

Featured Replies

Hi all,

06 TDI 140.

I've noticed a loss of coolant and I am sure it is from the radiator area. I have noticed wetness from the near side area on the engine tray underneath. This does drip on to the floor.

Is there a sensor here or a weak point?

I've had the tray off and had a good 'look up in under' but see no evidence!! grr! >)

Any ideas?

Cheers!!!

Leave the under try off and place a sheet of cardboard under and start the engine until hot then see, any drips will make it easy to identify where its coming from

Hi, 55 plate and at 39000 miles a leak appeared underneath by nearside front wheel.Took it to dealer who tested it and found nothing?.Two weeks later the nearside of rad' had leak , cost a fortune to replace it.

K-seal will fix it if it is only a drip and it doesn't clog up the cooling system like other radiator leak sealants.

About £10 a bootle - just throw it in the expansion tank and go for a drive.

I had a similar pin hole leak from somewhere that we couldn't narrow down - K-Seal did the trick!

Mine has been found to be the radiator. About 100 pictures of the Queen for a new one and up to two hours labour.

Did you try K-Seal?

You asked how much dealer charged for new Rad'( got an Asprin) £332.48 from Birchwood Eastbourne, gulp.

Nah, decided to see if it was detectable first, which it was thankfully. Would have given a go if it ended up being a NFF !!!
