My window failed last night so I need to replace the regulator - just wondered if they are any good?

I got one from ebay for about £20 which included postage to replace on a Passat, the wire had corroded and eventually broke. The kit is O.K and does the job, the only difference is the window operation is noisier now than before, but can't find any reason for this. If you do buy one, don't remove the plastic piece that holds the springs together until you have fitted the wire round all the pulleys (wonderful thing hindsight).
