lower arm/subframe bush's

Featured Replies

hi all,

I took my skoda fabia to a garage yesterday to get this annoying squeek looked at again (first time round they diagnosed the rear engine mount) I have been told that the whole subframe has to be removed to remove these bushs as they are part of it and that they r routated to get them in and out with specalist kit. They quoted 3.5 hours to do the whole job or 2.5 hours if i take the subframe and lower armsto the garage. Is this the case and does the time seem about right?

I hate taking cars to any garage i much rather work on them myself but as the car is under warrenty i have no choice

If your car is under warranty then a MKII??? Should move to other section :giggle: If not then does the garage mean the "console bush" Look on Powerflex.co.uk?? they have a superb two piece full replacement bush (nice installation pics on website) The old bush and their new bush can be placed with Console units insitu on car!!!

No u can change the console bushes with the sub frame still attached

ment to ask r the bushes in the arm or the subframe???? if they r in the frame how does one get them out with out a press and removing the subframe.

Large bolt and some metal discs

Or try a hacksaw blade thro' the gaps and cut the rubber centre out to weaken it, then carefully cut thro' the plastic outer sleave, and then tap out!! Simples ;)
