but am now after a car for me to run about in and have had a look at an 04 plate Pabia 1.4 tdi anyone got experience of them? the one I'm looking at has done 105k but has been looked after by a mechanic mate for the past 4 years and he says its kosher, seller wants £1600 for it.

£1600 for an 04 plate car sounds like a bargain to me - get it bought quick!!!

I've driven a Lupo with that engine and was impressed. A colleague has a 1.4TDI Bohemia estate and he's very happy with it.

I had a 2001 Arosa then a 2004 Fabia Comfort both with that motor, took the Fabia from 0 to 125,000 miles with no probs. £1600 sounds v v cheap I'd get it checked out to be sure it's not been smacked or anything.
