Front underseat boxes

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the Mark I underseat storage boxes can be retro-fitted to Mk II. I found this article:

My dealer is having a problem sourcing Mk II boxes.

Any advice welcome.

Regards,

John

No idea on the question, but would comment that the Mark II boxes, although cheap, are at best Average Quality and size. Have been rather disappointed with mine.

They actually ARE mk1 boxes... They are listed as for the older Fabia but do retro-fit the later ype as I myself have fitted them! They look ok, as the standard panel was just a blank panel and these are a panel with a lift up handle. Just make sure to fit them nicely with the seat trim lined up.The boxes, however, are a little on the small side but still worth the price of under a tenner a side. (You need a different box under each seat as they are left and right fitment, not switchable). They will hold a few small things like say, sat nav, a to z's, pens, bits and bobs, bags of sweets, etc but not larger things like atlas' or 2L bottles of drinks, etc and are designed to hold only a few KG in weight per box.

I found it easier to remove the seat to fit them and with the correct tool, this takes around an hour the pair, to remove, fit and replace the seats. B)

Bullyboy - thank you for your comments. My previous Level 2 2008 estate had these underseat boxes and I found them useful as the dash gloveboxes do not hold much at all. So these give just that bit more useable space.

Mrgf - thank you as well. I shall let the dealer know about the Mk I boxes to order.

Cheers,

John

John yes they do add something in storage, but i thought they would be better than they are. My wifes scenic has sort of drawer boxes which are a lot more usable.

Good luck with it though.

I've seen them in a VW Polo and wasn't impressed with their capacity.

If I find them very cheap I would probably buy them but it doesn't bother me at all that I don't have them.

They're standard on my Citroen C4 - flimsy as you like and... well, I just forget to use them.

they standard on my polo

they seem to be loved on here for some reason

got one on my mk1 and never used it

i had them on my octavia and never even realised they were there for ages. Dont think i ever used them either. But still think they should be standard

If the Mk1 boxes will fit, I have a passenger side one sitting here doing nothing. I bought a Mk1 vRS seat from a scrapper which had the storage box. I don't need the box, so if anyone wants it, it will be going cheap :) PM me.
