starter motor working fine other dash lights as normal. im using a elm 327 interface for obd 2, its worked fine till now.

Sounds like an X relay fault, remove the cover around the pedals, look up and you will see the relay plate. I think that it is the relay with 109 written on it, you could try reseating and tapping it. It will have a part number on it if you need to order a replacement.

I had not realised there was a 4x4 1.9tdi mk1. I assume it has fuel :smirk:. Have you tried any other keys? I am wondering if maybe it is an immobiliser type of issue...

thanks for the ideas, ive been thinking imobaliser for a while to .no its not a mark 1 its a 2007 model i dont think they have a 109 relay anymore im not sure what relay has replaced it, got desil in the tank. i tried other keys, unfortunatly dident work, the lift pump dosent work. defenatly seams to me like a relay or fuse or a mouse has been having a chew on the wires.
