Interior lights not working

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just upgraded my Octavia II 59 Elegance to have the Fiscon Basic Plus unit in. Not a bit deal to fit, apart from fiddly getting the harness in behind the dash. I too now have grazed knuckles...

Anyway, after putting it all back together, including putting the microphone in the interior lights, the interior lights, the glovebox light and boot lights no longer work. Yes I know, I'm an idiot... (well thats what the other half called me, actually she used other words I didn't know she knew!) I ran the microphone wire behind the dash and up the passenger side pillar, it was fiddly but no real problem to do. No connections were cut in the process.

I've checked all the fuses in the under bonnet fusebox and all appear OK. I have seen people saying that there is a second fuse box in the Octavia II but I can't see it anywhere.

Any suggestions of where to start? I'm really loath to dismantle the dash again to check behind it if there's nothing there to check! Fuses look OK, no wires were abused in the fitting (or none I can see). I've swapped over the interior lights from the rear seats to the front seats to see if thats the problem and that didn't work.

So welcome to suggestions, comments and other stuff.

As an aside the Fiscon box is pretty good, worked well once I'd figured out I needed to pair it in Bluetooth and guessed the passcode <doh>. Can't get SMS to work but thats not a big deal. Not sure if I want the dashboard integration into Maxidot as too much information overload.

Thanks,

Rob.

It's behind the lever off cover at the drivers side end of the dash...

Interior lights are a mini fit fuse 7.5A if i recall correctly.

Location as described above; take care removing end cover from dash as clips towards pillar are fragile.

Thanks to everybody who replied. Will gently open the drivers side end dash plate and investigate further.

If anybody hears or sees a large explosion in Greenwich this evening, that will explain it.
