General help on changing track rod ends

Featured Replies

As the title says, im just after a little information on changing the track rod ends on my 1.9 sdi.

I bought the car not long ago, got the old MOT printout advising the bushes to be changed before its next mot.

i ended up getting hold of two brand new wishbones with balljoints & console bushes... and two new track rod ends for only £20!

After spending about 5 hours changing the console bushes i thought i best check what els i might need to buy...

(didnt know i needed an 18mm spanner or a proper tool to get the console bushes in  )

so yeah, what tools will i need to change the track rod ends, i THINK its a 22mm spanner for the nut and a 17mm maybe for the track rod... but if anyone knows exactly what i need or can post a threat of a DIY fitting guide that would be great.

Thanks

Anyone?

Update yes it was a 22mm and its a easy job no space issues like i thought as i was thinking of the ball joint, track rod ends are easy to do.
