What do you think its worth

Featured Replies

I keep thinking about selling the octy, indeed I have been thinking of selling it since september last year but keep putting it off.

What do you guys think its current worth is. It would be sold with all the mods fitted but with all the required parts to revert to standard if required, Or should I sell it as standard and sell the other parts on afterwards, possibly loosing money on the labour charges to refit original components.

July 2001(Y) Octy vRS in Rally Red.

48K Miles

Tax till end June 05, MOT till July 05.

Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB52 Stereo, combined DAB/FM/AM Aerial + 10 CD Changer,

Sony Custom fit speakers up front.

Jabbasport Chip running around 220BHP (will supply orig chip),

KW Variant 2 Coilover suspension fitted last year at Jabbasport (will supply orig. suspension),

Full Miltek SS exhaust including sports cat (will supply orig. exhaust and cat).

Audi S3 Upper and Lower front strut braces,

Michelin Pilot sport tyres on standard alloys (225/45 x 17),

Cruise control,

All other standard vrs goodies.

Some stone chips on the bonnet, front spoiler, front spoiler has some scratched paintwork underneath that is not normally visible. Otherwise paintwork is in good condition for age of car, alloys are unmarked and have no kerb damage.

Any ideas what its worth then?

Easiest way to find out is to go into a Skoda dealer and look interested in a new one...

I'd say maybe 8500 - the mods don't add much except for another enthusiast - like another Briskodian.

What are you thinking about replacing it with? Will the mods be transferrable? ;)

I'd say maybe 8500

Horner's Bury have a 59k '02 vRS with a screen price of

You're probably right, Rob, I was kinda building in all the factors including Manny's mods and trying to guess a price for the overall package. I agree the trade-in is likely to be much lower.

5.5k to 6k... assuming sold as std...?

5k with mods public....?

I dont know if the dealer will be interested in the car as is, it will proberbly be the same at another dealer. I'll proberbly try private 1st before going to a dealer as that will most likely mean transfering the car to standard 1st.

Replacement, well I am looking at cars from another german brand. I did look at TVR's last year but decided reliability will be a big issue.

I'd say scare yourself with the glass' guide on the vauxhall site - "value your car"....

Thats the minimum, then think about what you would make flogging the bits on ebay..

Then see if you can find a buyer that sees the mods as a plus...

The vauxhall thingy is coming up with a p/x price of 6.5k for a standard car, at least I now have a starting figure. Thanks Ian, something to think about.
