IM LOOKING TO STRIP DOWN MY HEADLAMPS to spray the chrome bits,

Pagey_VRS on here took an old headlamp of mine that I had kicking about to see if he could separate it in an attempt to do what you are doing. I believe he concluded that there was no way to remove the clear plastic from the body without cracking it.

on my smart fortwo i was able to heat the clear perspex with a hair dryer and split the unit in two bot on the octavia it looks like a rubber seal witch i think it must be clamped by screws from the inside someware :wall::wall::wall::wall:

OK IT LOOKS LIKE A MASTIC TYPE SEAL SO SOULD COME OFF WHEN HEATED WITH A HAIR DRYER
