Hello all,

Had a spring snap on my Mk1 VRS the other day. A replacement spring from the dealer was £89 with £120 fitting.

So I thought I would invest in a full set of aftermarket springs instead.

I have opted for some H&R springs and I am so please with the price I thought I would let you guys know.

H&R 35mm lowering springs for £155 (includes Tax and Delievery) from Awesome GTI....thought that was pretty darn good!

Going to fit them myself...should be fun!

Which ones did you buy? Can you post a link. Im not sure you've baught the correct ones. The ones on the Awesome GTI website for the vRS are these and will only lower the car 20mm

Nah I called them up and asked them for the correct ones for a MK1 VRS.

Sorry for the confusion guys...they are the 20mm springs (I just called Awesome to confirm)

Their website is not displaying the correct price at present, so give them a call if you are interested.

Does having a vRS with 4X4 bring a noticeable improvement to the car?

This is a follow up to a previous question I posed recently. I had a 2008 vRS for over 12 years and really loved it before moving on to something different. Looking to getting back into vRS ownership again and toying with the idea of finding one with the 4x4 drive train. If anyone has been able to compare the two, is there a noticeable improvement in road handling with this variant? Thanks

I’m having a issue on start-up from cold there is a noticeable lumpy idling. This hasn’t caused any massifier codes when scanning via VCDS. Last year as part of the service the sparkplugs were changes but the rough idol is getting more noticeable. My Audi had the same issue that eventually resulted in constant misfire. That was diagnosed as having a carbon build-up. I don’t want to have the same issue occurring with the Fabia. As the CTHE is direct injection and has done 41k miles I’m guessin

I have a 70 reg 1.5 SEL saloon. Travelling over any type of rough surface causes a rattling at the rear of the car. I have removed all loose items from the boot to no avail. I don't think it is the parcel shelf moving around. Could it be that the tailgate is not shutting tightly onto the frame of the car? Possible causes and remedies most welcome. Thanks, Bobsko1

Hello, on the dashboard there is storagebox which has button to open it. sadly for some reason and some how, the button broke and i need to buy new button. i searched the web and saw that i can't buy only the button but the whole storagebox. the only places i found the storage box, are over at Russian sites (Which i don't speak, even though i used translator). Can anybody help me with that?. I'm looking for storagebox to replace the one in my ca

Little update since i posted about my Superb 280 going stage 2 back in may. I have questioned the high torque figure ( 618nm) with the tuner and was assured that it's a safe map, ok i left it at that. Three days after remap, car starts burning oil without even being pushed hard. So i switched to thicker 5w40 Castrol Edge ( issue rectified) Week later i pinned it from traffic lights and car cut power after 5000rpm. Gear changes felt really rough and jerky. Questioned it with the tuner, got nowher
