water leak under ecu housing

Featured Replies

hi after doing the wiring repair and pollen repair, i thought i saw some thing...somewhere

does the ecu box( I THINK ITS A ECU BOX) drivers side under the bonnet have the same water ingress problem?

i was wondering is there anything that lives under the drivers flooring, wiring loom, ecu, nodes ect?

or if theres none of the above is it a case of water getting in under the underlay and causing damp and fogging up the windows?

can the bonnet cable let in a lot of water also, and is there any other leaky bits?

can water get past the door seals and if yes is it a case of removing the seal and re dressing the metal lip?

If its an Auto the Auto box control unit lives under the drivers seat. But it sits in a waterproof box just like the conv' unit uder the pass' seat.

The water may travel up the wires themselves though, so its always worth a look.

The main leak with the older superb is the pollen filter housing, I have seen the occasional sunroof leak due to the drains blocking up and the coverless gutters overflowing.

Never seen any issues with redressig the apature seals, but they are only rubber and weaken over time.

The bonnet cable is leak free, usually, but theres always a first.

Hope this helps.
