Shark fin antenna for Skoda Octabia II

Featured Replies

Hi

I was thinking about changing the antenna on my Skoda Octavia vRS 2007.

I like the idea of putting shark fin antenna instead of having the long ugly one, but I´m little bit worry it does not work properly.

Have anyone tried these?

Any advise or comments really apprciated

I've got a shark fin aerial - looks great, but works terribly! If you use MP3 or CDs more than the radio though then you'll be fine, but if you enjoy listening to radio, then I'd suggest not getting a shark fin.

TBH I thought the sharkfin was for Factory fit Bluetooth and or Sat Nav. Shouldn't affect radio reception.

I don't have factory fitted sat nav or Bluetooth though mate.

Now I'm confused.

Let me try explain... The sharkfin antenna on the eBay link is an after-market look-a-like jobbie. The idea is, he unscrews his regular whip aerial, snaps off the anti-theft whatsit so it just leaves the base on the car with no aerial at all. Just the base. With me so far? ;) THEN postie comes along & delivers this ebay bargain, it's a sharkfin look-a-like jobbie that's hollow in the middle & has a little connector inside the hollow bit that he screws into the base that his old whip-type aerial used to be in.Then he peels off the backing on the base of the sharkfin & sticks it in place over the original base.

Howzat?

Excellent explanation mate! Nail, Hit, Head!

The radio is not that good anyway. So maybe it is worth the shot.

Do you know of any other Shark fin aerial that would be a better chose?

or should i just give this one a chance ;)

IMO you should go for the one you've posted mate - it's each to their own though really, if you'd be happy with how that one looks then go for it!
