Console bushes

Featured Replies

Basicallly I have got a clunking noise coming from the front end of the car! I can only really hear it at lows speeds or when giving it some stick. I need my track rod end changing as there is play in my passenger side wheel but I don't believe it is that causing the knocking.

It didn't seem to do it as much when it was wet weather but now it's dry it's got significantly worse. Considering this, it makes me think it's a cv joint due to lubrication but looking at threads on here everyone points to the console bushes.

My question is, what kind of sound do these make when they go? Are there any tell tale symptoms?

I'm pulling my hair out with this noise. Help

Console bushes aren't normally that noisy unless they have come apart, but who knows without diagnosis and looking at it.

Mine use to bang when I braked hard and clunk every time I changed gear when giving it some beans. That's how worn my bushes were. Fitted the cupra bushes and now everything mint again.
