Webclient Service on WinXP

Featured Replies

Hello,

Hoping someone can help seeing as I'm not having much look with google.

Got a Windows XP Pro SP3 workstation and the client is trying to access a sharepoint site. Problem is the explore view isnt working within Sharepoint. Looks like its reverting to the Windows 95 style view. After some research I've discovered the webclient service is in the stopping state. This I believe is needed for the Explorer view to work.

Tried ending the svchost process after finding the PIN. But when I try restarting the webclient service, same happens.

The workstation is question did have it working at one point. Another workstation with the same build is working fine.

Thanks

maybe a component of somekind is missing .. e.g. dotnet service pack, COM component, ActiveX Control, etc, etc.

Any dependencies not running?

Does it happen if another user logs into that work station? User or machine profile issue. Could you just rebuild the offending machine? I assume you have a standard image to deploy.
