WATER AND DAMP PROBLEMS

Featured Replies

My Yeti is now over 14 months old. Great car and I'm very pleased with it. But I'm getting a lot of condensation and a nasty damp smell which has been traced to water in the driver-side rear passenger footwell. It's going in for remedial action again soon but has anyone else had a similar problem? Last autumn the rear passenger door was rehung but this has not cured the problem. I know of one Yeti owner who had similar problems with excessive condensation causing the windscreen to fog

There was a long thread on this a few months ago about water in the footwell.

Aha.....The plot thickens.(But very slowly.):giggle:

Would get it cheched by your dealer; some early sunroof models had problems with the dranage system leading to leaks into the vehicle.

Possibly not applicable to a Yeti but I offer it as a general comment. My Roomster had the same problem and the dealer tried many options with no improvement. Eventually (and coincidently!) it was recalled by Skoda UK for a replacement windscreen. RESULT, no further leaks. Fitter thought that some of the seal had hardened at a different rate to the rest and left an area that has shrunk. He also said that he had come across another problem on all sorts of cars where the sealer had been applied a bit too generously and the surplus had restricted the drains at the windscreen corners.
