I need some advice Guys.

I ran Vag-Com and discovered this new error code as per the title. I've done a few searches here and come across the following comments:-

If the stepper motor has lost its known position then using Vag-Com it can be reset :-

08 Heater/A.C

04 Basic settings

Channel 000 (30 Secs)

001 (30 Secs)

002 (30 Secs) Does that mean you wait 30 seconds?

An old posting (about 1-2 years old) states cost of motor is approx £70-80

I found the part No: 1J2 - 907 - 511F and its location on the left side of the main heater assembly .

Has anyone used that resetting proceedure and did it help?.

Where is the offending motor in the car and is it easy to get to and remove / replace.?. The weird thing is the cooling heating seems to work ok, ie going from cooling to re-cycling and back.

I'll try doing the resetting thing and clearing the code, and see if it comes back first.

Any advice much appreciated.

Mine comes up with the fault all the tijme, but still works perfectly, so I'll leave it.

That is an option, after posting I rang Audi main dealer apparently there are 5 in the country at £100.85 including vat

Well the laptops on charge so either today or tomorrow I will try the resetting proceedure and see what happens.

I must admit 100 notes seems a little steep for a tiny 12 volt electric motor.

Very funny thread, some of the comments are brill ,

Dont you find tho when you are about to tackle something you have never done before, that slight feeling of dread creaps in, will I make it worse or blow something up?.

I cleared the code so tomorrow sounds like ill be upside down after taking a few asprins for my back. Bring back levers and sliders !!!!!!.
