Diesel too quiet!

Featured Replies

Just put a new S/S system on my 130PD and was a bit dissappointed with the sound! or lack of it!

Its is a Jamex Cat back sytem for the VRS with a Miltek Downpipe with no Cat so i thought atleast it would have some sound above the standdard car!

Anyone else running a system like this?

Was even thinking of taking the rear box out altogether!

Dont get me wrong the torgue increse is nice and pulls like a ****** but i wanted some noise.

sure its not jetex, and yep there as quiet if not quieter then the standard system, with the decat your prob just getting a slightly louder whistle, dont take the backbox out though as with a decat and no backbox your go from quiet to unbelievable loud believe me been there done it, unless you like that type of thing B)

Youve done it on a PD130?

I dont want it ear popping loud but a nice burbble would be something!

Ive just emailed jetex too and layed some slaps into them with the cheap nasty Halfords exhaust clamps they sent with it!

You wouldve thought they would provide Mikalor clamps!

These clamps were that **** poor that the halfords one i bought to replace one i broke trying to get it to seal was better quality!! go figure!!

done it on a 110tdi octy, first took the backbox out = nice note still relatively quiet, then took out cat = lots of noises, also done a sports cat and taken the backbox out off my current fab same engine pd130, still pretty loud with a sports cat

Might just go for a smaller back box then

if you search mufflerectomy on youtube should find loads of clips of cars with just the backbox out but still with cat, help you decide

Yeah had a look at that!

But the issue is ive now got a straight through Stainless system and its better with out the cat than the other way round!

I think ill go down the road if having a new rear silence made
