Full Body wrap

Featured Replies

I want to change my cars colour to white from black, and a full respray would cost around £1500 I think.

So any idea roughly how much a full body wrap would cost instead

Don't do it!! After spending 8.5 hours detailing my car today I have decided Black is the best colour.

If you are stilled determined though, then I don't think you will get a lot of change from £1000. Where I work a chrome wrapped R8 came through, apparently that cost a cool 5k..... :o

A wrap won't be that much cheaper and won't last as long as paint.

Buy a white one?

£1500 for a complete spray? That will be a crap job.....

I think a 3M Di-Noc wrap would look good.... emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

You are two weeks late with the April fools gag.

I think he's being serious!! :o:o:o:o

Oh he will be.....

And I can echo the fact that a £1500 respray on something Octy size is likely to be truly horrendous!

1500 for a respray wow wouldnt be looking at that price as an option for turning my old yellow fabia VRS Black was looking 3k min for a start to finish all work job maybe time to trade in mucker>????

i was speaking to a guy here in Dublin who does wraps and he says its about three grand for a family hatchback and it takes about a week to do!!....i did see one at a show last year and if you didnt know you would have no idea it was a wrap or different colour before. Then again ive seen grilles and roofs done that look like a a blind bloke with two left hands has done it!! Also from what ive heard its best to get a vechicle graphics company to it as they seem to have the most experiance. :)

How about Matt black ?.Matt is the new fashion ... With a black set of wheels, light tints, darkened headlamps and taillights and lowered it would look stunning.Anyone with photoshop ?.

had to have this fitted all across the front of a certain asian makers vehicle as the paint was crap brilliant if you get it done right as the stuff they use is a clear material made by 3m and they only allow vetted fitters to install it ...but it can come off in cold weatherr as the snow/ice gets " under"the tiny gaps at the edges and fromm then on its game over thats IF you dont get it installed right! ps if you want it removed you have to sign a disclaimer to the effect that if any damage should occur to your paint its not their problem ( a very real possibility if you have had any paint repairs and they have not been baked in a paint oven!)

Yep, he had it done by Creative FX. Was cheaper than I thought it was going to be with the GTR

A week to wrap a car?!?! Pah..... If it took London Underground that long to put the advertising wrap on all their buses they'd never ever put advertising wrapping on them in the first place as they'd be off the road too long!

And remember in Germany they have done wraps for decades. Does anyone think Mercedes really make all those German E-class Mercs in that off-yellow taxi colour? They don't. Every single one is a normal staid silver or black Merc underneath with a yellow taxi wrap over it - better come resale time as the paint will be mint and it won't look like a taxi.

And from the FX website given above by Wardy:

"Prices are affordable, starting at £250 (+VAT) for a bonnet or roof section, and complete wraps are from £600 (+VAT) depending on the vehicle size and finish required."

Yep - I've seen a great time-lapse wrap video somewhere, think it was via Detailing World. And that was on a Ferrari 360 or 458, so wasn't something 2-bit :)

And they had it done easily quicker than a week ;)

If I can find it again I'll post up a link.

Horrible idea... I didn't know about this other than as a way of putting ad slogans on cars.... ermmm the Maserati looks ghastly.... wish I could afford one though :-) Skoda drivers have more class and style than to do something so unpleasant, cheap re-spray equally bad idea, live with white or change the car.

Interesting how this has come about when my friends just started doing this to his BWM 3...

Thats all so far after a couple of days...but hes doing good considering hes actually a web dev by trade lol.

Think I might want to do it inside, especially if it's over the course of a couple of days.

Would be great if you managed to trap some debris underneath the wrap emoticon-0104-surprised.gif
