Oil leak?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I decided to change the oil on my car today as it was due and when I took off the engine under tray I saw quiet a lot of what looks like engine oil as you can see in the picture.

Any likely candidates as to where it is coming from as I could not see an obvious leak myself?

I only have the car two weeks and have not noticed any drop in oil levels but I will be monitoring it closely from now on.

Kind regards,

Richard

Check the intercooler pipes form the turbo to the intercooler and back to the intake.

They are renowned for collecting oil and then it drips slowly on to the undertray and gets blown on to the rest of the engine when you drive.

The other obvious places are around driveshafts, but your leak looks furher forward than that.

The only way of being sure is getting it cleaned off and keeping a very close eye on it to spot the source of the leak.
