Goodbye to the Old

Featured Replies

Today with a heavy heart I say goodbye to my 2009 Superb Elegance CR170 Manual Rosso Brunello - no extras - what a great car! Only 18K Miles (30K KM). My 4th Skoda and I have to say the best by far - 1999 Skoda Octavia - 1.6 petrol - sounded like a diesel but wasn't. 2000 Skoda Octavia 1.9 diesel. 2003 1st Generation Skoda Superb - developed the usual water ingress problems but otherwise a beautiful car. 2008 BIG MISTAKE - Nissan Qashqai - developed diesel leakage, lost air conditioner coolant and rear shock absorbers had to be replaced - all within less than 18 months of ownership!

2009 Superb was great - only 2 problems both corrected by great dealership with no issues - controls on steering wheel including horn stopped working - initially thought to be loose connection but eventually control unit had to be replaced. Bluetooth unit stopped working and had to be replaced. The engine is truly fantastic and definitely the best that I have driven (my wife had a Ford ST170 and now has an Mazda RX8 so I will have to exclude them!!). I will be sorry the Superb go. Tomorrow, however, is a new day and I take delivery of my 2011 Superb Combi Elegance CR170 DSG Rosso Brunello with KESSY, 18' Thermisto alloys, sunset glass, hill hold and hopefully panoramic sunroof (not guaranteed by dealer - decided to keep this as surprise for my pick up) - will send first thoughts as soon as I get to drive!

Goodbye 2009 Superb
