Shall we have a SMOC logo made?

Featured Replies

Here's my take on it that I quickly mocked up over lunch.

The grey background would be transparent of course!

Yes, like that.

Mmmmm, still like the copy of the foot in the brochure.I take it that the idea was to pick up on the brand image i.e. Big Foot, as in the brochure. Also just noticed that there are two feet as in a pair.

Sorry this does not really do it for me.

Chris.

I am becoming quite worried by the number of times I am forced to agree with a Welshman! It goes against all my principles and better judgment, but  +1 !

Not keen on this. emoticon-0149-no.gif

It reminds me of a sign from the Highway Code. "Warning, big feet ahead"........emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

As mentioned above, the Yeti foot from the brochure rocks my boat a little more.....emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

And we need to mention Briskoda.....

This is way less than perfect, but here goes just to give you an idea. I can't edit much as not got the right software on my laptop:

Is there any copyright issue here, for foot, to overcome first.

Not sure. SuperSkoda sell the door entry kick plates with the feet on.....

Will hopefully have some professional designs up soon, I'm sure the foot can be turned to horizontal if so wished, and any final refinements made. Logo will also contain the Briskoda logo weblink at the bottom under the foot. Final product will be able to be either window mounted on the inside, or paint mounted on the outside. Please be patient for the logo design, I'm trying my hardest to get a copy soon.

Thanks for all your hard work. All I need to know is where to send the money! :D

Read the comments and have quickly mocked up another couple of options. Both use the lettering inside the 'big foot' but I've just tried to clean it up and simplify it a bit. I quite like the single colour white option that would also probably be cheaper than any two/three colour options.

Again the grey bg colour shows transparency...

Now that with a slightly smaller Briskoda would look best.

We are getting there I guess...

The awkward angle again but I go with the flow...... The text has no relation to anything else. The previous one with the foot in a circle had the text at least relating to something... The circle also bound the logo to the Briskoda one that is in a circle. So with the same colours and one basic shape they at least look like family and from the same stable. This is completely alien to the Briskoda "brand" even if it is in keeping with the Å koda UK "foot" branding. We need to decide which we are aligning with and I suspect Colin would prefer us to stay inline with our host, Briskoda.

If going with this design: from a distance this will have a lot of white in it. I preferred the green foot - so from a distance you see a Å koda green blob. So how about one with a green foot and white text?

I also agree the briskoda.net bit should be smaller and can even just be like copyright text (small) and be on the edge following the line of the foot. Eg:

But following the curve of the foot:

I also prefer my original design solution (with some tweaks.) I produced these latest offerings as their were some who really didn't seem to like the foot inside the circle logo.

This text inside the foot design was just to offer an option and be more aligned with the direction the logo seemed to be heading in before I offered yesterdays alternative. I have created the individual artwork elements so doing different coloured versions with different text treatments would be pretty quick and easy to knock out.

I thought I would try out a white foot print as it kind of fits with the whole snow monster thing. I'll put together a new mock using a green foot and smaller briskoda.net text.

I hope I'm not confusing things by mocking these up....just trying to help.

No!!!! Don't get me wrong! You are helping TONS! I can't do things like that!

There will be a middle way perhaps between the circle design you did, the SUK foot at an angle and the Briskoda logo..... Or none of those. We will get there at some point and all the options help to visualise it. Thanks for doing them.

No problem at all...I hope I can produce something that we will all be happy enough with to display on our Yeti's

This remains my favourite, but I'll go with the flow.

Ok, had another go and have tweaked the last two designs and now have three options (just to confuse things further :giggle: )

I know we could end up going with something entirely different and I'm completely open to any further designs and suggestions.

Bottom one is best imho no border......warning of SMOC.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Do we need to explain SMOC in small letters? Snow Monster Owners Group (as opposed to Southern Mini Owners Club.........)

Hate to disagree with you Rocky, but the top two (with the circle) are better in my not so humble opinion ;) . If you need to explain a logo, it's not working. The 'foot' logo is perfectly sufficient to distinguish from any bunch of mini drivers.

Design by committee. We now have five pages of "discussion" and no outcome.:wonder:

I'm dusting off my Nat.Trust and Lifeboat stickers.

I've already gone for this years National Trust sticker (it's round) in one top corner of the Yeti back window and a BriSkoda circle in the other top corner. Nice and balanced, they are the same size.

As the wise old proverb says 'a camel is a horse designed by committee' :smirk:

'An expression critical of committees—or by analogy, group decision-making—by emphasizing the ineffectiveness of incorporating too many conflicting opinions into a single project. In this figure of speech, the distinguishing features of a camel, such as its humps and poor temperament, are taken to be the deformities that resulted from its poor design.'

Although it is maybe a wee bit harsh to have too much of a go at the fact we have 5 pages and no resolution. The thread has expanded from do we want a sticker, to also incorporate design choice & discussion as well.

To clarify things, perhaps the next stage should be setting up a separate vote thread with two or three choices?

This one above is my favourite...... Simple and plain. Now a spanner in the works: How about making that circle wider to match the Briskoda one? And add a black middle area... so you basically get a Briskoda logo, sans the B with a foot and the SMOC etc underneath?

A version to match the Briskoda logo...

If we wanted to go down this route then I would like to see what it looked like with the SMOC and Briskoda.net text in the site's own font style rather than using VAG.

Getting better all the time. B)

My favourite, for what it's worth
