Removing smic

Featured Replies

Hey all :)

Since the easter hols are coming up and I wont be relying on the car for a few days im gonna remove all of the boost pipes and intercooler for a good clean as wel as fitting my oil catch tank :) just a few questions before I start, am I able to remove the intercooler by just removing the arch liner or is it a bumper off job? Would save alot of hassle lol also what will I need for removing and how difficult of a job is it to do? Whats good for cleaning and flushing the cooler out with aswel?

Thanks again guys :)

bump!

its a bumper off job im afraid, all you need to take the cooler off is a 10mm socket and rachet, and a screwdriver to pop the clips out form the boost pipes, may have to take the headlight out to disconnect the top boost pipe but you can just get to it without doing it. however getting the top one back in is harder with the headlight in, its inportant to put the clips back in locked then you can just push the boost pipe back on and it will click when back in, then your know its definately in

sure it cant be done with just the arch liner out if its only a few bolts?

your have to take the wheel off though and jack up the car, bumper can be off in half that time, and save struggling too

Don't think so mate. Think you need to get round the front of the intercooler to get to some bolts. Bumper only takes 5 minutes
