vRS - Phone Connection BT

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently purchased an Octavia vRS but am having trouble connecting a phone via Bluetooth. Reading the manual I have activate bluetooth on my phone, but I am struggling to find the relevant menu in the car, I have tried the Bolero Radio menus and the MFD. The MFD only has the following 3 options: MFD, Audio & Setup; I cannot find any phone options under any of these?

Does anyone have any suggestions before I pop back to see the dealer, I would feel rather stupid if it turns out to be something obvious

Many Thanks

Andrew

Are you sure your car has an integrated BT?

I was told by the dealer that it does. Is there an easy way to check, before I go back?

Check under your drivers seat. If your car has a phone system, it will have a control unit under a black plastic cover under the right hand front seat.

@JonA, Thanks for that, I will check later today.

Also if you hit the phone button and it just mutes the radio then I don't think you have the bluetooth unit fitted. This was the way mine worked till I fitted one.

Chris,

Thanks, I tried that as well - so I think I am in the same position that you were. Can I ask what you had fitted? and who by?

Andrew

I had the same thing happen to me, salesman said it had handsfree got it home only to find out it didn't, quick trip back to the dealer for little word in their ear about being mis sold and they arranged to have it fitted at their expense. Result

Yep, check for the module underneath the driver seat.

Do you have Maxidot? (full height trip computer in between the speedo/rev counter)

I think I will try that approach first and see where I get to.

I cannot find anything that might resemble a 'module' under the drivers seat

Yes I believe it is Maxidot, it is the White on Black one.

Andrew

Not sounding promising. There should also be a phone-related menu in Maxidot if you have the module fitted you see.

Here's the pre-facelift version:

I think you're due a chat with the supplying dealer emoticon-0148-yes.gif

The aerial will have a 'shark fin' in front of the whip aerial if you have factory bluetooth
