I need a new wheel arch Liner...

Featured Replies

Driving down to Doncaster this morning, a UFO came from in front of the truck to get me... i got over as far as i could, but couldnt get over far enough!

When i pulled off the A1 (some time later...) the car made a terrible noise upon cornering... oooo dear i thought... :(

I pulled over, and found a block of foam (stamped with Ford) wedged in my wheel arch... the liner has cracked and been pulled away from the bumper... it must have been there for 20+ miles - it was getting HOT!

Well, all i can say is; Here's the video of when it hit me! - you can see i tried but had no chance to avoid :( and as it's only the liner (£36 + Vat and already ordered) I've gotten off lightly...

Al.

Video off a BlackVue GPS camera; i have a RoadHawk in the rear. It's captured some strange things so far! Big Brother or Safety? Your choice, but i'm keeping it. It allowed me to see if any of the two car transporters were carrying Fords.. which unfortunately they were not..

Sorry to hear of you mishap :swear:

At least cost is low

Cant see video, Facebook says unavailable :(

same here facebook says no!

I see what you mean, not much room to move and it could have been significantly worse given your position and speed.

I'm interested in your camera though, having searched the web the BlackVue looks good, and from the video the quality seems good too. Is it something that can be mounted discretely as in it could be left in the car when unattended? I note they offer a non-gps version too.

The Blackview is very discrete, it has more features than a simple camera. There are settings for event, just records from a G setting, normal will record continuously, or parking, in this mode it stays in standby untill a G force activates it, or movement across the lens, the sensitivity can be fully adjusted. The resolution is very good with several settings. I have one front and back, might seem strange but all accidents do not happen in front of you, you can be shunted from the rear, also a camera set in the back is handy for those unable to back into a parking space when set in the parking mode. I have tested the sensitivity in this mode and it worked perfectly, had a nice piece of film of some one looking in the back and rear quarter windows, they obviously did not see the camera by the time they were looking in Full details and downloadable manual can be found on www.pittasoft.com

You will find the latest firmware update and manual on the site. Th cameras seem to be coming 2 updates behind and 1 for the manual, all updates are free.

Similar happened to me last week.....Tat men had been round my parents street about an hour before i left and when i left i pulled out the junction and heard an awful crashing sound from the front of the car.

Stopped straight away to have a look and there was a Chromed metal plate draining rack wedged in between my wheel and the bumper. I had to let my tyre all the way down and jack the car up to remove it. PITA. The wheel arch liner is all smashed up but have managed to remove it and gaffer tape it up inside so will stop like that for a bit!

Suppose it could have been worse as it could have gone through the tyre or the bumper could have cracked as when i tried to remove by turning the wheels the bumper was bending out. People also were moaning that they were struggling to get past my car....what do you expect me to do with a plate rack wedged in my wheel arch
