Snow foam advice

Featured Replies

Purchased my autobrite hd snow foam which i used tonight. Im using the basic karcher 2.3 pressure washer but i didnt seem to get a great amount of foam. Well, i did but it wasnt as thick as i imagined. Would this be to my dilution of the snow foam wash or the ability of my pressure washer?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Cheers

My money's on your foam dilution. And the settings on the Autobrite foamer.

How much foam did you put in? And then topped up with water?

I normally turn the dial all the way clockwise. fill the bottle to about an inch and bit and the rest with warm water.

I tested filling the bottle 50:50, Cold water and an inch, full bottle of snowfoam.

the full bottle and the 50:50 stripped the wax :)

cold water was not as fruitful as warm water.

I sometimes put a dollop of Megs Gold Class in as well.

Roughly about 1 and a half inches - 2 inches of foam and then topped the rest up with warm water.

Dilution sounds ok, as said check/adjust the dial on top - what snow foam are you using?

I always put a shot of shampoo into the bottle with the snowfoam as i find it helps with the cleaning also acts as extra lube if you wash the car with a coating of snowfoam on.

Agree - have a play about with the adjustment for mix and also the nozzle, until you find you're happy with the foam output.

I use Valet Pro pH Neutral Snow Foam...It produces thicker foam than most and doesnt strip off wax or sealer

I also turn the dial fully to (-)and use around 1" to a litre of cold water...Warm water makes no difference at all!

I also use valet pro ph neutral snow foam with my cyc lance. I fill it up with about 500ml of product and that's it's, no water. Then turn the dial all the way to + and then back half a turn. Get nice think foam and that 500ml lasts about 4-5 washes.

You dont need to have it so concentrated

I get tons of foam using the CYC Lance, Karcher pressure washer, using Valet Pro pH Neutral Snow Foam, about 1 inch (could get away with less) in the bottom and topped up with warm water.

Done it again on Sunday, much better foam, tried adding a bit of gold class megs and a little less water. Next time will try the ph neutral one as I bought that with another order.

Cheers for the advice

Less is more...

Where is the best place to buy the lance and foam?

Autobrite one is quite popular.

Also available from Elite and CleanYourCar

Will get some Valet Pro next I think.

Nothing like a bit of snow foam. :)

What did you think of it's cleaning ability?

Great bit of kit! Tend to jet wash first, then snow foam it using a 2inch mixture of Pink/Yellow Autobrite stuff cold water filled and shaken for good measure.

Result bellow was using the rotary dial maxed on the minus scale and the aperture blades 2mm apart

If my maths are correct. I worked my lance/pw out to be about 36:1. So that would give a concentration of 3%?

On the Valet pro ph neutral bottle it says between 1:10 to 1:25. So between 10 and 4%. So to me they would mean using it neat.

With my BH Autofoam, i never top the bottle up ??

Always just put about an inch worth of product in the bottle, and go from there.

Sometimes a dash of Megs Gold in there, but never top the bottle up with water...

Should i ??

Surely it gets diluted anyway through the lance ?
