Rear Light Removal PROBLEMS !

Featured Replies

A Few months back the wife clouted the car, cracking the rear lens and scraping the paint :'( .

Well today picked up the new lens and fitted it tonight pretty simpke job 4 bolts ha ha ha its all located in place but there is a gap at the bottom & top compared to the other side not so bad at the top but noticeable if you r looking for it. when I noticed this I removed the bolts thinking it wasn't lined up correctly 3 of them came off perfectly but the 4th wouldnt do anyting just spinning whether I tightened it or loosened it I can't see that its been cross threaded :( the new lens had the rubber seal around it and the 3 other bolts have pulled it in tight . My 2 questions are :-

Is it possible that water will get in either at the car wash or rain and B*****r up my electrics

When the car hit the stationery car is it possible it has knocked the alignment out on the bumper if so is it say a bracket thats naffed and easily replaced or is it new bumper route .

Like I said it doesn't stand out to the naked eye

pagey did say that one of the bolts is a pain in the ass when u look at the locating holes on mine the cluster is tight to them in a way it looks like the light may be a little smaller than factory fit but there is no way of exchanging as the 1 cowin nut is proper on and doesn't want to play ball. The bumper to look at doesnt look out of place but hey lets my fingers and hope its not a dear doo (please please god) :o;)

Re-alignment of the screws into the bumper will improve the gap.My bumper was off before and massive gaps under lights. Checked other new cars in garage and were all the same. I was sure mine were tight before. I removed lights and covers from under lights and done some aligning. It's a bit of a pain as the cover & lights need to be put back in place to check alignment so may need to be on/off a few times to get right. Virtually perfect now.

Have a good look around the screw heads before removing.....seeing as it got a tip you might see there original location.

If you wanna PM me an email address I can see if I have any before/during/after pics.
