Another one saying bye to a VRS - thanks lads !

Featured Replies

Well, after much heartache, I have finally sold (or what feels like given away !) the VRS. I think it has gone to a good home, rather than back to the dealer which pleases me, but a few quid more would have been welcome. Even after I dropped the price substantially, interest was scarce.

It's taken me about three weeks to sell (it had to go as I'd committed to buying an XC90 from a work contact leaving to go to the USA) , but I have been appalled by all the timewasters & scammers. My experience will probably mean I will never try to sell a car privately again.

I thought the car had been priced fairly for what it was,24k miles with the extended warranty, 2 year service plan, cambelt done & >£2k of extra's inc xenons. Having researched the competition, there were cheaper, but much rougher looking, poverty spec cars out there, with intergalactic mileages

I accept I put myself in an awkward situation where I was pressurised to sell, with the impending payment required on the Volvo.

In hindsight if I'd bought a diesel, it would probably have sold all day long.

While the selling experience was a nightmare, I've had a fantastic 3.5 years with a great car, spoilt only at times by poor workmanship/service by elements of the local dealership. I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their help/advice/humour & sometimes difference of opinion on here...it's an absolutely invaluable source of support for Skoda owners.

I reckon I could be back in the future (& might still have a sneaky peek onto the site occasionally)...but for now it's just time for a wee change.

Thanks guys & all the best

Enjoy your XC90,

And do still keep " popping in "

Best of luck with the xc90, but come back soon :giggle:
