I've just joined because I'm hoping to get a Fabia vRS later this year some time.

In the past I've had a Skoda S110L (bought for

Nice to see you here. :wavey:

Go and have a test drive. You'll be buying one sooner, rather than later.

Today was test drive day ... I'd convinced myself I wanted the vRS without even test driving it, but thought I ought to do the decent thing.

Just to give a direct comparison, I drove a Clio dCi 100 in the morning, and then the Fab vRS in the afternoon.

To be fair, the Clio drove well - was nippy and quiet running. But the space in the front (width especially) was poor and the legroom in the back abysmal.

The Fab was a revelation - it scorched away from the lights (or anywhere else) and pulled beautifully in every gear - except when I accidentally tried to start from a junction in second (ouch)! Far more comfortable than the Clio too - better seats, better space front and back - and holds the road better with its stiffer suspension.

My wife sat in the passenger seat and the back and was very happy with the ride - which is an improvement on her AX in which she threatens to throw up when I hurl it down a country lane with any sort of abandon.

So ... it's definitely a vRS for me! The only choices are colour - still torn between black (cooler or "meaner" as the dealer said to me and I like the contrast between the black bodywork and silver wheels and trim) and silver (supposedly easier to keep clean, and nice contrast between silver bodywork and side strips). Decisions, decisions!!!

Welcome :)

Ordered the beast just before going on holiday to Crete and waiting now ... and waiting! Build w/c 15 August and expected delivery early September.

Thanks to this site for advice on where to buy it ... Brooklyn Skoda in Rugby has got the deal for me and is worth a look for anyone in the Midlands. :)
