Featured Replies

Right guys,

Went to put my wee boy into the car today and found that i couldnt open the rear passengers door! All electrics i.e. the window works perfectly fine, the door even sounds like it "unlocks" but the door wont open.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Childlock on the door maybe .!!!!:):):)

Not when it can't be opened from the OUTSIDE. Childlock is on so obviously cant be opened from in the car

The Mk1 Octy had issues with the doors jamming when deadlocked, never heard of a Mk2 doing it though...

Any solutions? It's a pain in the backside having to shuffle across to get him in his car seat :(

Can you open it from the handle inside? if so it maybe the exterior handle has broken or the cable has snapped?

Child lock is on so I can't open from the inside :( really getting annoying

Can the door panel be removed from the inside, with the door closed? I know on my MK2 there are a couple of bolts right under the door panel that would be pretty difficult (if not impossible - i've never tried!) to get to with the door closed.

If you manage to get the outer door card off then you SHOULD be able to check the mechanisms and cable to see if anything is broken.

Cant you just drop him in through the window?:giggle: :giggle:

Geeez man u ve said that already !

Anyways if you can remove the door panel you maybe able to check all te links ... Snapping cables are quite common down here ...!( caused due to heavy yanking at the door handle)

HTH ....

Sorry for the daft reply earlier .!

Hmmmm.......I'll give it a go and try to pop the card off, I may need a new one as I'm more than likely to destroy this one through total anger lol
