collected my car, a few questions

Featured Replies

hi guys,

first off collected my car at weekend and loving it. very nice.

couple of questions if you dont mind.

first off i said to the dealer i wanted it set to variable for servicing and he assured me it was and that it would be set that way anyway but how do i check that this is the case?

i dont trust that it has been as not had a great experience with them.

second question, i wonder if anyone has this with a petrol vrs manual, when i reverse or am in first gear and slow bringing up the clutch and giving some slight revs, i find i feel the cluth slightly springy, like a small vibration. however if i give it slightly more revs this seems to be ok.

its a nack to get it right and just wanted to check if this is normal with the clutch?

thanks guys

Do you have maxidot?

If you do you can go into the menu system and see how long before your next service. If you have variable it will be somewhere around 17k.

I think what ur saying about the clutch is the feeling you get from duel mass flywheels. I could be wrong and corrected on this matter.

no maxidot.

has the manual got a dual mass flywheel then?

sorry just not clued up on the mechanics.

it seems ok, every other gear is spot on and seems all good.

it is like the power of the engine vibrating slightly through the clutch at 1st and reverse when pulling away.

not sure if it maybe is the type of engine as never owned a vrs before or this type of engine so maybe it is normal?

if anyone has other feedback that would be great.

cheers

no maxidot.

You can check the time and distance to next service by pressing the trip button and holding it down when you switch the ignition on. The exact procedure is detailed in the owners manual where is talks about servicing.

The trip display will show something like 18,000+ miles and 700 days if it has been set to variable

(Note, If the car is new / recently serviced it may take a few hundred miles to correctly appear.)

LOL I hope so my new one after a forceful one way conversation I had them agree to change to variable after telling me "ALL UK HAVE TO BE FIXED SERVICING FOR WARRANTY" cheeky mother truckers. after having it changed in front of me playing on maxidot a few miles later taking it away and it was coming up just over a year best have changed now ive hit the 500 miles mark OR ELSE!!!
