On your comment Grizzle, I don't really think many would describe Super Resin Polish as a 'last step product' surely? Its combination of properties does include a sealant, but to maximise the benefit of application and also the appearance of the car, it would be recommended to finish with a wax coat or two.

True this is why AG released Extra Gloss Protection

I bought mine off eBay - just do a search for PY21W. They normally come in pairs and the price can vary by a fair bit. Rears only take a couple of minutes to do but for the fronts you need to remove the headlights which take a couple of minutes longer.

Edit: It was this seller I bought mine off: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/performancebulbs

When you say remove the headlights do you mean the whole lamp cluster or just the back panel in the same way as when you change the headlamp bulb?

You need to remove the whole front light cluster.

No, has to be the whole headlight out as the indicators are right up next to the wing and there is no way you'd get your hand in there.

Removing the headlight is easy though, you just remove one plastic nut then pull the hook at the side of the headlight in towards the middle of the car and the headlight should pop out. You don't even need to disconnect the wiring to the headlight, there is enough slack to allow you to remove the bulb and replace it.

The whole process to change one indicator bulb in the headlight should only take 3 or maybe 4 minutes.

Thanks, any problems getting it properly aligned when putting back?

Nope.

Looks good the Eibach / FSD combo suits the FL very well ...if you change the indicator bulbs don't go with cheapo ebay ones, get the Philips silvervision ones, the coating doesn't make them dimmer unlike a lot of the cheaper ebay ones....plus the onae I have in were taken out of my previous octy vrs and are now 3 years old and still going strong!!

Hi Jonno, Is the K&N panel filter the same as the pre FL model? Petrol?

I have my white one on order and was always my favourite colour. White does now seem to be the new silver as lots os manufactures seem to follow each other like lemons.

Saw one if the flesh and it does look superb in white. I'm not keen on the newer steering wheel however. I like the one in mines better. The centre console trim round the gearshift is now silver. Think I'll give it the 3M carbon film treatment.

Just need to strike off the weeks on the calendar now.

No, with the TSI they've thankfully re-designed the mistake of fitting the panel filter into the engine cover emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Thanx for that Wardy.

Jonno, did you fit the lowering springs yourself? The rear ones look pretty easy, disconnect the shocker and swing the rear beam down and the springs lift out???

Do you have any photos of the engine bay?

With the hubcentric kit does that mean locking wheel bolts would be too short?

Cheers

Kaj

Yes the locking wheel bolts are too short, you CAN get longer ones though. I didn't bother, I just removed all 4 lockers and replaced with non-locking bolts. More hastle than they are worth, seen too many stories (and experienced it myself) where they cause problems and are then a nightmare to remove.

Look at McGard ones if you want longer locking bolts.

Got my springs and shocks fitted by Awesome GTi.

Yes I now have longer McGard ones fitted.
