Sound like a fun drive :auto: some of the roads on the west, north of Glasgow, up to Inverness are the most fun. Watch out for Cameras on A9 etc.

Seconded, in particular the A9 bit. If you don't know the road stick to the limit, as you'll either come back with a sackful of points, or in an ambulance...

:iagree:

The A82 between Fort William and Inverness is a cracking bit of road...........

The A82 between Crianlarich and Ballachulish is another cracking bit of road - through Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. If you're a outdoor kind of person it usually sets the pulse going in anticipation of a good day in the mountains! Pity you'll by-pass it.

If you take the A828 from Oban (up the coast) take a right at Ballachulish and have a pint/bit of lunch at the Clachaig Inn in Glencoe. Outstandstanding scenery and heather beer to boot.
