yh i did struggle to translate the meaning

Andy does work in mysterious ways.

surely the 9n3 Polo gti engine (1.8T engine) would drop straight into a petrol Fabia with little to no work needed? Then with a bit of work (manifolds and exhaust, intercooler, turbo) you could easily see 200bhp.

Or, or or - buy the Polo/Ibiza! :p

Eh?

who's it a picture of?

Well yeah, I got that bit just didn't know if it had more significance than that, but then I guess that's all that needs to be said..lol

Yes it would, however finding one is a bit more difficult than say a Golf turbo, plus likely to be more expensive.

haha id happily put that in a cobra but a fabia i dont want it to rip itself apart haha

i think i will have a go still doing some research as to which the best engine is, been told the 2l 16v engine mite work

Yeah 2l 16v will fit, 150bhp out of the box.

Your going to go to the trouble of swapping an engine to put a 2.0 16 in?

Matt

what about audi TT 1.8T 225BHP 4x4 ? there would be a little bit of playing with the rear suspension mainly but is that not worth it? :)

or maybe MK4 Golf V6 4 Motion?

What do you mean? It`d take more than a "little bit of playing" to get a 4WD fabia. If your not talking about that then just get a 2wd from a leon no?

Matt

2WD is not a real challenge is it?

the 2l 16v im sure it would go well to having a turbo put on it haha but yh its now a point of assesing which is the best engine to drop in

I never said it was, but i`m pretty sure 4WD isnt a bit a playing about with rear suspension lol.

IMO if your going to do it, you might as well go for a 1.8t. Its been done in the ibiza/fabia so you can use genuine parts and it`ll be reliable & solid for more power later on.

Polo VR6 is immense!

Its a 2.8 from a Golf so is that the 12v?

Circa 170bhp - he managed to show me it could do 140mph the other day! Sounds epic, just needs to do his bodywork then it finished!

If it's a mk3 golf then yes, 12v

V5 could be pretty different and dirt cheap.

v5 ohhh yh good idea

To be fair even the 170bhp variant is a bit ****y, makes a fair noise mind.

Be easy to do though as you could pick up a Toledo V5 for peanuts, sat nav and leather also..lol

2.0 ABF won't work thinking about it, no way to mount the side of the block.

maybe new TFSI then ? 2.0 TFSI (BWJ) 241BHP as standard fitted in LEON so should fit spacewise, then bigger turbo and new map...

Edited by dj_max

Might go space wise but a lot of fabrication plus getting FSi running in a non FSi car could be tricky, especially with the can network issues etc, different grade of tech.
