Inside edges of front tyres warm?

Featured Replies

Has anyone else got an issue with the insides of the front tyres warming up even after a short drive?

Obviously this is going to lead to premature wear or tyre failure.

So is this anything to do with alignment as I think my alignment is bang on. Or could it be a camber problem? My car appears to have a little camber and I'd rather have it straightened up a bit.

Are you running coilovers?

Matt

Heat radiated from tyres themselves on contact with the road, as well as brakes, engine and radiator are a few things to list, that will radiate out around most parts of car.

Nothing to worry about in my book.

Uneven tyre wear would point to tracking required, but first check-on suspension and steering parts for wear.

No coilovers. I've only recently bought the car and I've been told the springs are eibach.

I'm doing a bit of an overhaul anyway so I'll be replacing anything that's even slightly worn. And I'll be getting the tracking done shortly before the MOT. It drives fine though.

I know the control arm bushes are a bit of an issue on the VRS's. Is there a preferred solution to upgrades for them?

If your tracking is ok and the Tyres start to wear on the inside then I'd look at the console bushes.
