Which of these Wheels?

Featured Replies

Guys,

I'm picking up my '57 Silver Estate on Saturday.

I've been looking at wheels and wanted your opinions on what you think may look better?

I like these....

Any good or better alternatives?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum mate.

Re: the wheels, if I'm honest the first 3 are quite nasty imho of course, given the choice it would probably be the fourth set.

Sorry I don't like any of those.

My favorites: bbs Ck, vmr 710, neuspeed Rse07 and 14.

^ I'm sorry but I'm also not a fan of any listed above.

It's your car though and your choice. Please do post up some photos once you decide which ones to get.

Honestly, I didn't like any of them either but I didn't want to hurt the Noobies feelings....

@rob_e, completely agree mate, bbs all the way.

Am I getting old or just very boring, but for me the standard vRS Zeniths are by far and away the nicest looking wheels for an Octavia, closely followed by the FL Neptunes. Why or why would you want to buy anything else. Am I alone on this..................?

Sorry, but they're all bad. You'd be much better off with a set of second hand BBSs or similar or some second hand upmarket Audi wheels. Don't be hasty, monitor what comes up for sale on the wheel classifieds on edition38.com for a little while to get a feel for what's available.

You and me both mate, but the other way round, love the Neptunes.

I'm biased, but Audi R8 reps are by far the best OEM+ wheel upgrade for the Octavia II, IMO

I've just looked at the recommended, I don't have that much burning a hole :(

Shows I haven't bought wheels in a very long time!!! :wonder:

Where should I be looking for 2nd hand? Fleabay?

I said it before, and I will say it again, that is the 2nd best looking vRS ever.....FACT!

Harry, is it the camera angle, or are you missing a tailpipe?

No peanut i dont think you are getting old, the Zeniths suit the octy perfectly and anyone buying a brand new motor and then fitting different alloys immediately is MAD.

Why do you say that?

 I agree I do like the old Zeniths more but they would need to be 18" like the new Neptunes but they do suit the car especially in race blue

Cheers mate.

No, both pipes are still there it's just the camera angle.

@OP - eBay would be a good place to start looking for cheaper alternatives

Just had my zeniths repainted (put the other pics and the grill picture on a alloy refurb thread) and going on a silver octy estate.

neptunes for me i think are the nicest alloys i have had on a car.

They are R8 replicas, and there are loads on ebay in various different finishes, and they are not that expensive

Yeh they cost me £600 inc tyres about 3 years ago

I second that mrh

Zeniths do look very good with spacers.

I'd say Compomotive CXTs made to measure, but then I'm biased ;)

anything other than the standards seem to ruin the car and take it into the depths of a little bit of chavness unfortunately......the darker standards look ok tho....

ive been looking for a VRS for a while now and anything non standard just sits on the forecourt forever.
