Yeti Greenline Elegance - Worth The Wait?

Featured Replies

Hi to all you lucky Yeti owners. Had my heart set on a Yeti Greenline Elegance to replace my present company car. Everything made sense, good space for family, good spec & fantastic economy/emissions (which is less tax to pay!!). Had a look on the Skoda sight & narrowed it down to colours etc. So far so good, just been getting prices & again good discount to be had. The bubble has burst, 6-7 month wait for delivery!!!

Is it worth the wait & is the Greenline as economical as the figures suggest? I've got until Tuesday to decide on the Yeti, or find an alternative!!!

Input VERY much appreciated.

Welcome

Personally can't comment on the Greenline version, but the Yeti for most people has been a 4-9 month wait, personally it was 5 months and it is better than I imagined it could possibly be.emoticon-0144-nod.gif and well worth the wait.

I can only dream of Greenline fuel consumption (4x4 & auto driven around London does nothing for economyemoticon-0149-no.gif)

There are a few threads on here from owners, but there are only a handful of owners at the moment as they have only recently started trickling through from the launch of the Greenline.

The Greenline is definately worth it! My overall average since getting the car including much town driving is 49.5mpg, on the open road it's up into the 60's(mpg).

Start/Stop technology is also a big plus for saving fuel in the town.

First year road tax = £0

There after each year is only = £30

Hope that helps swing your decision?

Hi mine's been on order just over a week now expect to see it about November time. Pete

Ordered Yeti GL in October and received in April. It was worth to wait :)

Ordered mine in Jan.

Due to the dealer on the 5th of May (so i'm told anyway).

:)

Cant comment on Greenline as it wasnt available to order when I ordered my Superb. However the 1.6CR engine used in the Greenline is very nice. Power delivery is smooth across the range, It is quiet and controlled.

When you hit the loud pedal you dont get pushed back into your seat, the acceleration is much more gentle, but it will keep up wth traffic and cruise effortlesly at national speed limits.

10 days after delivery of my Superb (non Greenline) I managed to return 57.6mg on a mix of dual carraigeway, A road and CIty driving yesterday (90 mile round trip) so the claimed fuel consumption figures look fairly realistic (56mpg quoted for my Superb and mine has only covered 600 miles so far, so better to come).

SWMBO has start stop technology on her Yaris- once you are used to it and have confidence it will start again it is fine.

If possible I would hold out for the greenline, but if time is against you then try for the 1.6CR

Unfortunately, the only Yeti diesels available are the greenline 1.6CR or the 3 outputs of 2.0CR, 110, 140 & 170.

Ordered my Yeti Greenline Elegance in March through Autolease and was given a stock date 16/08/2011. However, I received a call from Autolease last Thursday to say the stock date had been brought forward to 04/07/2011 and they were hoping for an earlier date than that. Can't be bad as my old Company Car (Volvo V50) was due to go back in June.

I've got one in Black Magic coming very soon if you'd like it? If you haven't sorted one out yet drop me an email about it.

Sorry I missed a comma out. It should read 'Can't be be bad, as my Volvo v50 has to go back in June'.

The Volvo V50 2.0D has been a very good car but I'm hoping the Yeti Greenline will be even better!

As this will be a company car i've spotted a flaw in the Yeti plan, the emissions whilst in the 13% tax bracket now, go up next year to 17% for TY 12/13 & 18% for TY 13/14!!! Your monthly tax payments going up by £50 a month from 11/12 to 12/13!! It would appear that they will level out by 13/14 but will still be £20 a month more expensive than the VAG cars that keep the CO2 below 110. Used www.comcar.co.uk for the workings, please tell me i'm wrong!!! My wife says if this is the case it's cheaper to get another passat!!!!!!!
