TOW BAR WIRING

Featured Replies

Hope someone can help, please

Will be wiring 12n towing socket wiring at the weekend and need to know if I need to use a 7 way bypass relay on an 2004 Octavia estate L&K ? I've wired 12n electrics on other cars which had bulb failure warnings and have not needed to use a bypass relay.

Thanks Terry..

Hi Terry Ive just fitted my towbar on my 2001 vrs and i did not need a 7 way bypass the octy 1 has no bulb failure recognition as far as i know

No need for a relay on my 2001 Elegance, but that does not have bulb detection failure.

I connected mine straight into the rear loom without a relay with no problems al all.

I fitted one to my 2001 vrs and did fit one because i was told the wiring that runs to rear lights carnt isnt big enough to take extra current of trailer lights

Certainly not the case in '01 TDI Elegance :)
