Dump valve HELP

Featured Replies

Right my mate has an octavia VRS and is wanting to put a bailey DV26 onto it i have said that a recirc one would be better but he wants to try this one first :D Do we just remove the rubber pipe and blank the airbox side of and put the DV26 over to the left hand side on the pipe coming up from the back of the bulkhead?

Any help would be much appreciated :thumbup:

tell him not to bother. he is going to potentially cause himself problems. the air recircs for a reason!

One of my other mate used to have one on and it was star performance that put it on

yes just blank the intake pipe off and the DV can go on the end of the long pipe.

Word of warning tho, it will throw a fault at some point. plus he WILL be down on boost. I had one on mine and I got .6 bar with it and .9 bar with the std bosch valve.

The sound is good tho lol but going into limp mode is a pain after a while.

The recirculated air is taken into account by the maf sensor and is also used to help the air fuel ratio according to a tuner I know.

if he wants sound when he changes gear, tell him to fit an induction kit.

Ok thanks for the replies folks will let him know :thumbup: Again!! i did tell him Not to fit it but he will not listen!!

he will soon find out mate, he will poop himself when he goes into limp mode. Its scary lolspecially going up a hill trying to overtake a lorry on a motorway.

My baileys kept causing it to go into limp :'(

The last time was pulling onto the m5 infront of a dirty great lorry

Forge 007 since then lol and clean undies all the way :giggle:

lol

I've been running a dv26 for over 30k miles and it's never caused me any problems what's so ever.

I still peak @ 18psi

I didnt think you ran any kind of dumpvalve furry?

Yeap I run the above, the slight release of pressure from the dv26 allows it to keep the turbo spinning but at the same time allows it to chatter Like a goodun

have you had the dv26 resprung as it should pretty much vent all the boost quickly?

gonna say mine used to leak on the std map at 6k rpm+

Even on a vag com log run it was well down on boost with it on.

Mine only went in limp mode on partial throttle tho. and when setting the cruise control.

Nope it's in standard form.

You can't even hear it dump at all.

are you sure it's actually working then? lol

mine goes into gimp home mode as well but it only does it when i slightly push the throttle crusing along the motorway apart from that it seems fine

I wouldn't be able to put up with it! I don't have an issue with the recirc valve and i like not being in limp home mode

yes it can be but i am hopping that once i remove the n75 valve it sorts it because the fault that comes up is a pressure drop and it only does it on partial throttle when crusing if i am crusing along and dont let the dv operate it dosent go into limp home mode i was going to put a small valve in the vacume pipe to stop the dv opening unless its on harder throttle if u get what i mean

why are you removing the n75 valve? its there to help regulate the boost. it will throw up errors as the ecu won't see it there any more.

the n249 valve is part of the dumpvalve control, that would be better to remove if anything, but I don't understand why you don't just put a recirc valve back in

i got confused it was late at night the n75 is the one i plan to change for a different verson the n249 valve is the one i want to remove 9 the one that controls the dv

why replace the n75 for a different version? the standard one should be fine!

when u read some of the seat forms they say that different versions have different boost charataristics i just want to try it and see

may cause more issues then fix though depending on your map. my car ran awful when I changed to a different n75 valve
