oem headunit

Featured Replies

i want to install my sub and amp into the car but would like to keep the oem looking headunit.

i havent received my radio keys yet so am unable to get headunit out and look at back of it.

so........ would anyone be able to tell me does it have the facility to run the rca leads from the amp into the standard headunit?

if not does anyone know if this is possible to do with any adaptors????

thanks ste

Change the headunit, even a cheap one will make the current speakers sound loads better! I was really surprised how good they sounded with a Pioneer.

Plus you'll get bluetooth/USB mp3 support etc...

I'm sure I've read before now that you can utilise the cd changer socket (if your not running a changer that is), you'd just need an adapter to convert it to RCA sockets.

ste, when I changed ours I used two small tie wraps, no problem.

My old Fabia had a sub wired in (from the factory/dealer by the looks of it) to the original HU. Think it goes into the ports next to the CD changer/phone kits.

From what I remember it was a block connector which spilt out to two phono (RCA?) style leads and another block which gave the power to the sub.
