Gauge holder fitted

Featured Replies

After many weeks trying different things and not being happy with placement ect I orderd a 3 x pod holder to fit onto my A piller as they dont do one for our fabias i got a universal one that i thought i could diy to make it look right after a few hours with the dremel i got it how i wanted it and wired up for power so i now have my boost gauge up and working in the new holder and oil pressure and oil temp with power but not connected to an sensors as yet thats the next job. So what do you guys think?

It would spell disaster for me cracking my head on them getting out/in of car.emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Quickly add they look better on your car or someone else's, no offense mate.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Got to take your eyes off road to study what they are reading a main disadvantage, emoticon-0149-no.gif

would have thought it be safer if fitted to top of front facia a better consideration.?? emoticon-0148-yes.gif

They dont realy stick out that far dont forget i was sat in the drivers seat when i took that pic so camera was held closer to them im not small and i have no issues hitting my head  im sure it wont be to everyone's taste but im no sheep i like to have my car abit different

Look good! Nice job, something I'd like eventually. As for the positioning, it's better than under the headunit, heater vent, or anywhere else that iv seen them.

it has taken a long time to do i did try it in the centre vent but i didnt like it there but im happy now and it serves a purpose as well i like to know everything is running ok before i drive it hard plus i will know its up to temp cooled down ect rather than geussing

I really like those gauges themselves with the LED rings!

Can't think of a much better place to put them either really - doesn't remove any sorta function - like the cubby hole or an airvent. Good job that :)

clicky

same make for boost and oil temp only grumbel is the boost gauge isnt instant reading it has a slight delay but i can live with that as it is only slight

Ok, stupid question here - how do these work? It says it only has two wires and doesn't use oil pipe - what would I plug it into to get oil PSI and temp?

Thanks. :)

there all electronic so the boost has a boost sensor you need to tap into your boost pipe comeing from youre intercooer then there is a wire that runs to the boost gauge its self (+ and - also) the oil temp and pressure come with sensors mine came with an adapter so i could remove the OE pressure sensor and add in the new oil pressure sensor and temp sensor easy to fit IMO very simple wireing and as the boost gauge is electronic you dont get the annoying buzzing sound when on full chat

Right, ok, so it does require plumbing in then. Didn't know if it somehow piggybacked off the back of the OBD port or something. Thanks though - might give them some thought after I've done some other bits and pops to the egine. Thanks.

Turbos not an issue for me anyway. ;)

only plumbing in is unscrewing the OE oil temp sensor adding the adapter then the other sensors + the OE one back into the adapter

Looks good!
