Been waiting nearly a year for a sparewheel kit now for my 1.2SE - but it still doesn't officially exist as an aftermarket item, so inspite of paying for it when I ordered the SM I still don't have it (FYI I have the panoramic sunroof & that meant that I couldn't have the spare as a factory fitted item)

Sounds like a bit of typical Skoda logic :wonder:

It is all to do with the weight of the car and it's "carbon footprint" emmisions. If they allowed the spare it would take the car into the next band.

So potentially they are saving you money.

AARRGH!!!......combining the weight of my spare wheel, dog box ,with my excess body mass, must put me up severalCO2 tax bands.(I filled the fuel tank too!!!!):o

Complete spare wheel kit, including wheel, tyre, false floor/carpet, tools and storage boxes with retaining clips/screws is available from your dealer...

That's the good news....

Downside c. £200 :(

Are you really sure the kit is actually available ? Do you have the kit part number (or perhaps one of the Dealers on the Forum does)?

I only ask because my the Parts guy at my Dealer denies all knowledge of this and says that his Skoda UK Technical Support people also say that such a kit isn't available - I'd be quite annoyed (but relieved) if it has been released. I know the price is much more than the factory supplied option - but I've already negotiated that with Dealer/SUK at the time I purchased the SM.

Thanks, but those don't equate to the spare wheel kit - there are some padding storage boxes which fit around the wheel, floor and (I think) mounting bracket for the wheel itself.

My dealer has lent me a spare and the jack/tool kit (which is equivalent to the parts you suggest), but they look really ugly just dumped in the boot.

Those part numbers are from my invoice from Rainworth Skoda, total delivered cost £213.

What they supplied against that invoice included all the storage boxes, fittings and wheel support bracket in addition to the wheel with tyre and tools.

This link to the spare wheel guide might help My link

Thanks, Tim
