SatNav (MFD2) aux in is too quiet

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just purchased a skoda octavia 2 with a built in sat nav nexus unit (mfd2).

The aux input in the jumbo box is connected to my ipod of which the volume is fully turned up.

On the unit i have to select AV source instead of AUX. This seems incorrect as the input only receives audio.

How do i correct this and how do i improve the volume as any traffic announce or navigational instructions are considerably louder than the AV volume.

Many thanks

What I'd do is address the source that you're plugging in. The issue is that the headphone socket of the iPod isn't amped. That's why you're finding it's much lower than any other source.

What I'd suggest is a PocketDock, which plugs into the connector at the bottom of the device, which is amplified, and then the 3.5mm jack cable connects to the PocketDock. You should find them on eBay, or they have a dedicated online shop too if you Google.

Sweet, didn't realise the dock sound out was louder so I just bought this one off eBay

Fair enough, that should do the trick. Yep, louder as the output will be amplified by the MFD2. Output quality will also be better as a result.

Stream MP3 and MFD3 have a menu option to adjust input sensitivity. Does the MFD2 not have this?
