Vinyl Wrapping Octavia VRS Spoiler and Wind Mirrors

Featured Replies

What you guys think about vinyl wrapping the spoiler and mirror on a MK2 VRS? :)

Door mirrors? I did consider it but thought it might stand out a bit too much. I was thinking of 3M Di-Noc.

Spoiler I wouldn't do personally. What colour is your car?

My octi is blue i like the idea of it but would like to see one that has been done first, also seen the interior plastics in carbon fiber and i must say it looks very well.

surely a VRS in itself stands out enough about Lisburn B) I personally laugh at Leon FR's and their Halfords look wing mirrors on a daily basis.

I tried the mirrors with matt black vinyl & a heat gun....a few times..... :giggle::thumbdown:

Ended up buying brand new matt black mirror covers for a '05-'09 Polo (9N?) from eBay which fitted perfect. Cost about £25 for the two, delivered.

I'm a fan of dark mirrors but I don't like carbon wrap - if you have real carbon fair enough (don't see the point on a family car but each to their own) but putting sticky-back plastic on the car to make it look carbon-ish is not my bag.

I have matt black mirrors on mine - as per skodaphile these are just OE covers un-painted. I know these divide opinion (its just like a base model etc..!) but I like the look and that's all that matters to me.

:)

I'm not sure how the dark wrap on the spoiler would look against the blue, but for a light colour (white, silver etc) then a matt black wrapped or painted rear spoiler on a hatch would look great IMO.

02p etc. It's your car so do what makes you happy.

:p

Have a look at this thread here:

This guy was going to do his spoiler too IIRC.

Something not quite right about it on a Blue Car. Maybe cos the wrap is matt.

I think it looks allot better with a glossy black rather than with a matt one.

They'll be from a 9N3, effectively the facelift on the previous generation. Have you got a link to the ones you bought? I'd have a set at that price emoticon-0148-yes.gif

From seeing the FL Octi with the matt black i have went off the idea but i must say that i like the gloss black roof maybe its time to reach into my pocket and see about getting the roof sprayed.

Theres been quite a bit off vrs' knocking about Lisburn or else i have just noticed them more since i bought mine.

What do you guys think on 19" alloys or is that to big?

Just looking for some advice so i don't go crazy as i have a few times in the past

Cheers

Steve, I actually got them from two different sellers-one was a complete mirror which I won for £0.99 & postage to Dublin! Have a look here though. One seller I bought from was 'lesbray', and his website is www.veedubmachine.co.uk ;)

Gloss black wrap is available and reversible if you go off it!

19's are quite possible, but it depends on what kind of roads you drive on. I'm in Dublin, so a no-no for me.

Make sure to post pictures..... :)

I think gloss would work on the mirror cases, if done right it can look classy, leave the spoiler though.....

Before Peugeot employed a blind man to design there cars!! B)

Nice machine. The gloss black also works best on silver too I reckon - as you've got clear contrast between the body colour and everything else - the windows, rubbing strips, tyres etc :)

Thanks - saw that one, but was sure I'd already checked with him and he said it was for one without integral indicators :S - which wouldn't be right on a 2005. I'll double-check

Thanks mate, I have to say that was one of my favourite motors, so refined and comfortable. Unfortunately it had to go when my first lil man came along as it was a 2+2 coupe and we couldn't fit a child seat. :'(
