MOT fail on bushes

Featured Replies

Hello, my girlfriend just had the MOT done on her Fabia and it failed. Just wanted to know how much these would be to fix as there was no price on them.

Offside front suspension arm rubber bush deterioration resulting in excessive movement. 2.4.G.3

Was wandering why they left it blank as well. Does this mean that they don't know until they see it or ...?

Also, is it possible to do it myself?

Please help!

Thankyou

Jonny

Skoda direct replacements for rear console bushes about £9 for one, each side.

Information on this site to DIY if competent enough.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Some garages will fit new alloy consoles (around £72.00 for each side) with rear bush already fitted.

This is to avoid the fear the (long) stretch bolt breaking/shearing off in the alloy console, which can/does sometimes happen.

If stretch bolt can be removed without breaking/ shearing off, then the job is fairly straight forward.

New wishbone stretch bolts around £5.00 for each side, which can be ordered from Skoda.
