Eibach springs - what are these bits?

Featured Replies

Got 4 little metal rings with the Eibach springs in zip bags... but mechanic couldn't actually figure out what they're actually for? Anyone got any idea? Google returns nothing!

2 end in 02

1 ends in 04

1 ends in 05

The 02's are smaller (for the rear I think)

IIRC they're there to restrict steering lock to avoid knocking, Which you may experience on full R/H lock!

Thanks. I do remember reading something about that.... somewhere! I'll see if that happens and let him know :-)

Throw them in the bin :)

Just received my springs and them alloy bits, but where buy on the suspension do they attach to??

There to limit steering rack movement

Not required!

Don't know if this is correct...if I saw a picture..would be better...but I do know that where the rear spring goes into the seat on the rear axle there should be a metal ring with a lip to it which the spring sits in....is that it???? :wonder:

No, don't think so. They're small things. Not all that much larger than a jewellery ring.

Jason has already given the answer as to what they're for.

If that is so then WTF are they doing giving you parts that are not required???? As thats a waste of money and obviosly confuses people!!! :wonder:

Nope rear spring sits on rear cup at bottom on the rear beam

Top of spring fits over a rubber bump stoppy thing :)

I know that but.....on the rear there is a Stainless?? Steel ring/washer with a lip which sits in the cup (bottom part of spring fits in a cup which is part of the rear beam axle) and the spring sits on top of this ring/shim thing....I know having replaced it with a OEM Skoda one when I did my rear suspension!
