My CR170 now has 13.5k on the clock. My first Skoda, but not my first VAG diesel. Wickedly quick, responds like a petrol car if you give it some welly and use the gears on a twisty country road. I reckon it would at least keep pace with, and possibly outperform, the mark II Golf GTI 16v I used to own a few years back. It's also quiet and refined on long journeys on the motorway, and climbs the farm track 800 feet up a Pennine hillside to my house.

Great car, great choice of engine/spec
