K&N Cone filter

Featured Replies

Just wanted to know if this was the best place for a cold feed and what is the pipe that has been stuffed in side the cold feed. Looks like a warm air feed pipe to me but i cant be sure. If it is should it even be there?

Yes i know , cone filter = heat soak and yes it needs a clean no need for those comments please :)

Thanks for looking

The pipe that is sitting in the cold feed ducting on the second pic is from the original airbox. It comes from the SAI system so needs to be there for the SAI.

For the type of filter you have(none enclosed) that is probably the best place for the cold air feed as you need to get the cold air into the filter sides.

A lot of folks who keep std airbox but improve the cold feed take it the other side of the battery, but that would not help your set up.

Agree with Bowders on SAI, the original feed from the airbox is still there also so that may help a little, maybe better to get CAI pipe and fit filter to the end of it.

Whats SAI? Ebay any good for CAI pipe work?

the SAI is only used for the first 60-90 seconds on a cold start, it adds air to aid in heating the cat, will be removing soon as many others have already done, if you search for SAI in the forum search there will be plenty of info about it
